Who I am
Kelsey, RVT, CCRP, Owner
Hi my name is Kelsey and I am the owner of Willow Grove Animal Wellness Centre. My dream as a child was to work with animals and with a little bit of determination and extensive education, I get to do just that. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. I have been studying animals over the past 6 years to make sure that I know as much as possible to provide the best care to your pets. I completed my technician diploma at Northern College with distinction in all four semesters. I then made my way to the University of Guelph to study animal biology. I then decided that I wanted to provide a business where people felt confident leaving their pets with me and able to provide ample care from pediatric to geriatric pets. That is when I started at the University of Tennessee and have completed the CCRP course to provide more for your pets. I am passionate about animals and anyone that knows me knows that I am always talking about my life with animals. I have worked with a variety of species including; elephants, cheetahs, water buffalo, African painted wild dogs, cows, horses, pocket pets, alpaca, camels, and of course your furry cats and dogs. I have trained extensively in animal behaviour and welfare and aim to provide the most safe and comfortable environment I can. If you have any questions or concerns about how I can make your experience better please don’t hesitate to ask.
Chloe
Chloe is a 6 year old beagle crossed husky. I call her a busky! Chloe was rescued from North Bay Humane Society when she was two years old. She was extremely shy and reserved and struggled with new environments. She showed a variety of fear aggression behaviors including resource guarding, aggression towards men, women, food and every other behaviour problem you can think of. After a lot of love and hard work, she is proud to work in nursing homes, hospitals and provide therapy for people that need it most. She is a sensitive soul but has a little ball of energy buried deep. Chloe loves to meet new people almost as much as she loves Aspyn. Chloe is talented and smart and my security tester. She is an escape artist and in her spare time she can be found chasing squirrels, playing in the pond, and trying to figure out if the local cows want to be her friend.
Aspyn
Aspyn is the newest edition to the farm. She is a pure Australian Shepherd and is Red Merle in colour. She was bred in Zorra Township by working lines and you can find her trying to herd everything from cows to leaves. Aspyn has a lot of energy but she also loves to learn. Aspyn will always be ready for a game of ball and she also loves to talk about her day. You will often hear Aspyn’s greeting through the fence as you join us here at Willow Grove. Aspyn was raised from a puppy, so her story isn’t as dramatic as her older sister Chloe although she is still sensitive. Aspyn is not light on her feet and can be heard running from a mile away. This does not make her a good hunter and is often found disrupting Chloe’s adventures. In Aspyn’s spare time, she likes to play, play and play some more. This is why she received the honorary title of play coordinator here at Willow Grove.
